Can`t disable startup sound
I don`t know how much info you need for this problem, but here goes:running the beta on a Dell XPS m1530, fresh install.I go into the control panel, then `sounds`, I set the scheme to `no sounds`and deselect `play windows startup sound`, but the damn sound plays every time anyway. I can`t have it playing if I ever need to start the computer during a lecture or a meeting. If it`s a glitch, okay, but is there any way to disable it regardless (i`m trying to type a question mark here but this form doesn`t seem to like firefox, and all I get is an ``)

Silly thought, but it should work... Why not simply MUTE the sound before you put it to sleep/shut down - or barring that, simply turn the sound all the way down? Windows generally remembers that setting the next time the system is brought back up.

Fair enough, I guess I'll just report it and then be aware of the volume control ;)
